Anyone wishing to be employed as a CCTV(PSS) operative has to be in possession of a licence issued to them by the Security Industry Authority (SIA).
Details
One of the eligibility criteria for licence applicants is that they must hold a relevant and accredited qualification. The new BIIAB NCCCTV(PSS) meets this criterion.
The Ofqual accredited qualification comprises of two units:
Unit 1 Roles and Responsibilities of a CCTV Operator
Unit 2 CCTV Surveillance Techniques
The Guided Learning Hours for the qualification is 30, and there is one 60 multiple choice question examination, for which 90 minutes are allowed. There is also an internal assessment for Unit 2.

Candidates may do parts 1 and 2 of the course in any order they wish.
The CCTV course fee per person is £200 inclusive of examination fees and course materials.
